Adopt Your Own Wintertude

Adopt Your Own Wintertude

Now that the joyous events of December have passed, along with all the partying, feasting, the hassle, the bustle that kept adrenaline high, now comes January, with its long, dreary, cold winter days that imprisons many indoors. Local and world Politics, dismal health, disaster and precarious economic forecasts ringing in the airways only add to the doom and gloom scenario that is January. Is it any wonder a fortunate crew cast aside winter’s cloak and, fashioning themselves after the migrating birds, flock to hot and sunny destinations in droves to escape l and regenerate?

Or we can practice meditation and Zen…. That too is liberating.

Without going out of my door
I can know all things on earth.
Without looking out of my window
I can know the ways of heaven.

For the farther one travels,
The less one knows.

The sage therefore
Arrives without travelling,
Sees all without looking,
Does all without doing.

-Lao Tzu, Tao te Ching

Best of luck to you all.

March Break 2013

March Break 2013

This is the time when those who have endured the long harsh winter sequestered indoors, with only some short visit to the snowy slopes, now line up in the airports to migrate south seeking that eternal sunshine and hot, hot temperatures. They all have but one objective: to regenerate and pack into their week long hasty schedules as much sun, swim and of course, fun as they can.

Who wouldn't wish for a glorious reprieve sprawled on the beach with an occasional dip in the ocean all the while achieving the bragging rights to that golden glow once back at home?

While some would enjoy a good night’s sleep, the frolicking masses try to let off more steam by dancing the night away in some extra loud musical establishments.

Sun, Ocean and fun and more fun!!!!! Happy March Break everyone.

Enjoy!!!!

A Remedy for the January Blues

A Remedy for the January Blues

Canadians are referred to as Snowbirds as, each year, like migrating birds they flock south to warm destinations seeking brief solace from the frigid temperatures, snow, and wind of the winter months.
There are other means to remedy the affliction of January blues.  Below is a collection of art that will allow you to vicariously indulge in a virtual getaway.

Here's an old Irish saying that seems apropos: "May the Sun shine upon your way."

BoSt Galleries- A Day at The Beach

Modern Art Series

A Day at the Beach
Summertime is when the temperatures are sizzling and the sun is a big ball of fire in an azure sky. For cooling off there is nothing better than escaping the bustling metropolis and spending time at the beach. Far from the noises, the daily grind of work and transport, or the endless hours spent in front of the computer, cell-phones, tablets or TV, we are like the castaway sailors staking our spot on the expansive sands. Sparing an occasional look at the fluffy clouds sailing on by overhead, we take refuge under the beach umbrella, allowing the cooling onshore breeze to caress our faces.  Comfortable in our colourful beach chair we lazily fall asleep, leaving the cares of the world behind.  Then, occasionally waking up, we partake of the cold refreshments neatly stored in the cooler or digest some delectable fruit, barbecued meat or other such treat. Energized, we then rush into the embrace of waters. We swim about, submerge, or take a brief dip pretending to be fish and not land dwellers.
Still restless, we take a good long walk on the soft sands and the shallow strand, watching our steps all the while as we take in the delightful view of the happy, frolicking beach-goers. Our ears are treated to the cacophony of cheerful sounds as we dodge the sandcastles of happy children and cooperative adults alike.
This is a sure piece of Heaven on Earth, claimed unfailingly every summer by us all during the precious summer months.
Have a fun filled summer.
