THE QILIN AND THE THREE KILLINGS IN 2025

THE QILIN AND THE THREE KILLINGS IN 2025

On the 3 rd of February 2025, we will enter the year of the Yin Wood Snake (Yi Si), marking a new yearly pillar and also a new path of Annual Flying stars in our home for the year ahead.

Last year’s entrance into period 9 Feng Shui had caused a big shift for most of us either good or bad; rest assured, in 2025 the energies will be a lot more settled, which can then make the Snake year a very exciting and a productive year! The Yin Wood Snake year 2025 is expected to bring resolution and resilience; hence, some of the world’s issues should be eased.

Bear in mind, the Yin Wood Years tends to bring steady growth, especially with regards to finances; therefore, all outgoings, purchases and investments should be handled with care in 2025.

It is part of Feng Shui practice to ascertain the direction of the Three Killings each year. This direction, also known as the Saam Saat, always occupies one of the four cardinal sectors-North, South, East or West and the affliction that covers 90 degrees of the compass. In this year, The Year of the Yin Wood Snake, the Three Killings are in the East.  It is imperative hence, that you do not carry out any noisy activity, renovation, or construction, conduct maintenance work or digging with noisy equipment inside or outside your property or workplace in this direction.  Once disturbed, this affliction will bring about three types of misfortunes: financial loss, sickness and arguments. If this is unavoidable you should place a six hollow metal rod wind chime between the building and where the work is being carried out and for a few days after. This is especially important for the oldest son and males, although this will affect all occupants of the household and workplace when activated.

If you have a door located in the east this year, please take great care when opening and closing the door to ensure it is not slammed. Avoid the influence of the Three Killings by opening and shutting the door calmly or installing a soft close hinge.

Another important thing to remember this year is that, when seated in your office or at home you must avoid having the East behind you. Confronting the Three Killings will not hurt you but having them behind you will.

Finally, if you can, place three Qilins (Chi Lings), especially if they are metal, in the in the quadrant (where metal element is considered good) such as SE, NE or South, facing East (where the Three Killings is located) in 2025. This will effectively restrain and prevent the killing Chi from harming you.

Qilin is a mystical hoofed chimerical creature, often depicted with what looks like fire all over its body. It has the head of Dragon and the body of horse. It represents protection, prosperity, success, longevity and illustrious offspring.  It is a good omen that brings ruì (roughly translated as “serenity” or “prosperity”). The QIlin (sometimes misleadingly called the “Chinese unicorn” due to Western influence) is believed to manifest upon the occasion of an imminent person’s arrival, or when a wise sage or an illustrious ruler has departed.

The earliest references to the Qilin were in the 5th century BC, in the book of Zuo Zhuan. In its historical account we are told that after Zheng He’s voyage to the East Africa around the area of modern-day Kenya, he had brought back two giraffes to the emperor in Nanjing. The giraffes were thereafter referred to as Qilins (Chi Lings).  The Qilin and the giraffe was both vegetarian and shared a quiet nature on top of their reputed ability to “walk on grass without disturbing it”. Furthermore, the Qilin were described as having antlers like a deer and scales like a dragon or fish whereas the giraffe had horn-like “ossicones” on its head and a tessellated coat pattern that looked like scales. Even today the giraffe is still called Girin by Koreans and Kirin by the Japanese.

Back then the emperor had proclaimed the giraffe as a magical creature, whose capture signified the greatness of his power. By the time of the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) the original Qilins were long gone. In the subsequent legends their appearance took on a more stylized representation of the giraffe, becoming mixed with some attributes of the tiger, dragon and other animals. The Ming artisans represented the Qilin as an oxen-hoofed animal with a dragon-like head surmounted by a pair of horns with flame-like head ornaments and a scaled body.  Sometimes the creature is depicted with a single horn on its forehead, a multicolored back, and hooves of a horse, body of a deer and the tail of an ox.

During the Manchu Qing dynasty (1644–1911) the Qilin (Chi Ling) was depicted as having the head of a dragon, the antlers of a deer, the skin and scales of a fish, the hooves of an ox and tail of a lion.

The Qilin’s attributes are:

Though fearsome, the Qilin only punishes the wicked. Its manifestation bespeaks of a wise and benevolent leader in a country or even a household. Being such a peaceful creature when it walks on grass or vegetation it takes care not to trample a single blade or step on any living thing. A Qilin is said to be able to walk on water. If a pure person is threatened by an obvious culprit the Qilin transforms into a fierce creature, spouting flames from its mouth and displays other fearsome aspects.

Legends have accounted for Qilin’s being manifest in the garden of the famed Huangdi and in the capital of Emperor Yao. The birth of the great sage Confucius had also been presaged by the appearance of a Qilin (Chi Ling).

Note: Before the Qin Dynasty, during the Zhou dynasty, Qilin ranked higher than the Dragon or Phoenix. Qilin was first, the Phoenix ranked second and the Dragon third. In the Post-Qin Chinese hierarchy of mythical animals however, in some fables where the Qilin (Chi Ling)was depicted as the sacred pet of the deities, Qilin ranked the third after the dragon and phoenix. In Japan (Qilin) Kirin are portrayed as a dragon shaped like a deer with an ox’s tail, and they preserved their importance, with the Phoenix placed second and the Dragon third.

                                             ~

Finally, if you have an important or commonly used room that falls into the east this year, you will need to make sure that you activate the (Feng Shui’s) annual flying star #9 correctly, which is also in the East this year. An extremely strong cure to enhance the annual #9 in 2025 is an Jinyuyingmen Red and Gold Buddha which strengthens the fire influence of this auspicious star in home and workplace, therefore, ensuring that wealth and overall luck prospects are as powerful as possible despite the Three Killings being also located here.

If you have a bedroom or office in the east this year, this is good news as these rooms usually have yin energy, which is nice and still allows you to avoid issues from the Three Killings.  Though, if you experience relationship issues this year, check that you don’t have an excess of water or earth colors and elements—such as brown, terracotta, beige, yellow, black, grey, or blue in this area. Small amounts are acceptable but try to avoid overusing these colors in 2025. For those trying to conceive, sleeping in the east can boost fertility, especially with a red Kwan Yin placed in this area to enhance supportive energy.

When activated, the #9 star can bring new career opportunities and advancements in 2025. To enhance this energy, introducing fire and wood elements in this area, candles and healthy plants are excellent choices. However, always ensure that candles are not left burning unattended, and keep plants fresh and well-maintained to sustain positive energy throughout the year. The most crucial and powerful cure to place in the east palace in 2025 is the Gaojie Quannian Master Cure. This powerful amulet and protective talisman cure is placed to enhance the annual #9 wealth and career star, which has become the prominent wealth star during period 9 Flying star Feng Shui from the 4th of February 2024 until the 3rd of February 2044.

TAI SUI (THE GRAND DUKE OF JUPITER) WU SUI, RESIDES IN SOUTHEAST IN 2025

TAI SUI (THE GRAND DUKE OF JUPITER) WU SUI, RESIDES IN SOUTHEAST IN 2025

On the 3 rd of February 2025, begins the year of the Yin Wood Snake (Yi Si), marking a new yearly pillar and also a new path of Annual Flying stars, for the year ahead.

Tai Sui Wu Sui (The Grand Duke of Jupiter) – is in the southeast (142.5 - 157.5) in 2025

Tai Sui, Grand Duke of Jupiter or also known as “General of Time Gods” (Yin Jiao), is a very important aspect of Chinese Astrology, wielding significant influence over fortune, health, and luck. Tai Sui refers to stars directly opposite to Jupiter and sometime refers to the rotation of Jupiter. In any case they are known to influence the Chinese zodiac and are involved in religious Taoism and Feng Shui.

The Chinese Lunar Year Cycle has 60 years, and according to Taoist belief, there are sixty heavenly generals one of whom is the Year Authority, or Tai Sui, who is rotated within the 60 Jia Zi (Jupiter stars). Each has the duty of observing and managing the hour, day, month and year, as well as governing every heavenly body in the sky. They assist the Jade Emperor in taking charge of the well-being of the Mortal World. Each of them takes turn being in charge for a year at which time they are known as that year’s specific Tai Sui. Due to most of them having a military background and having an intangible energy body of War-like nature they are normally known as the Military Generals, or as the Cycle Gods.   Each of their attributes and weapons signifies the well-being of that year. For example, if the Tai Sui of the year is one who holds a pen it signifies political unrest for that particular year. On the other hand, if the Tai Sui of the year holds a spear or sword it signifies the need to work hard and excel for that year. Each year’s Tai Sui has the commanding post wielding his authority over all other deities for that particular year, the sole exception being The Jade Emperor.

Suffice it to say; with such immense power and influence, no one dares to offend Tai Sui. At this juncture I would like to also add that Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) has usually been misunderstood as the dreaded punisher whereas, in fact, he is engaged by Heaven to tend to any mishaps and disasters and provide protection. A person's bliss, health, luck and misfortune are all governed under the care of Tai Sui. Pay heed, Tai Sui will note the good deeds and misdeeds of people and so bestow (exact, impose, dole out) rewards or punishments accordingly.

                                                                                         ~

This year’s Grand Duke Jupiter (Tai Sui) is General Wu Sui. He was a (wise and compassionate) scholar and magistrate during the Song Dynasty, renowned for his keen intellect and ability to solve even the most complex cases. His reputation, for being meticulous in thoroughly analyzing evidence, made him highly sought after by other magistrates who often requested assistance; thus, he was promoted to governor of Xiuning County.

During his tenure, a severe drought struck the region. General Wu Sui, determined to help his people, spent three days and nights praying at the temple. His prayers were answered, and rain fell on his county, while neighboring regions remained parched, leading to famine and chaos.

Despite fires, looting and widespread suffering in surrounding areas, Wu Sui’s County had furthermore thrived; this was due to Governor Wu Sui’s subsequent, apt measures. Through tax exemptions and relief efforts, peace and stability had been maintained, making his province a rare haven of order during such catastrophic (calamitous) times.

                                                                                         ~

Moving on: each Tai Sui is linked to a specific direction, leading to potential conflicts with certain zodiac animals. These conflicts arise from the cosmic alignment and can significantly affect individuals' energy fields. Those in conflict with or offending Tai Sui may face adverse effects, impacting their health, finances, and relationships.

The effects of Tai Sui's influence aren’t just fleeting - they linger throughout the entire year, potentially turning one’s plans upside down if one is not careful.

Those whose Chinese Zodiac offends, or by their sign clash with the Tai Sui of the year, are advised to go through a prayer session with a Taoist Priest to ask for blessing in obtaining Peace and Good Fortune throughout the year. If for whatever reason one can’t do this then there are Talismans for protection against Tai Sui.

Chinese Zodiac signs that clashes with Tai Sui (WU SUI) in the Year of the Wood Snake 2025 are:

1-Snake - Conflict.  People born in the Year of the Snake will experience a year that is generally marked by challenges, including career difficulties.  Expect setbacks and obstacles that may hinder progress.  Tensions are likely to arise within family relationships. A decline in health is possible, with a higher risk of accidents or misfortunes.  The Snake should maintain a positive attitude and keep forging ahead despite challenges. Focus on emotional control and reconciliation to create a more favorable environment, as trust can lead to wealth and stability.

2. Tiger – Harm - Individuals born in the Year of the Tiger will be in a harmful position with Tai Sui in 2025, which can lead to tense (strained) interpersonal relationships, with increased likelihood of misunderstandings and conflicts. Existing health problems may become more pronounced.  The Tiger therefore should approach challenges with optimism and focus on maintaining harmonious relationships with loved ones. Prioritize family unity to enhance overall fortune.

3. Pig - Conflict with Tai Sui - Those born in the Year of the Pig will face a significant conflict with Tai Sui in 2025, characterized by major Changes. Expect notable shifts in various aspects of life, serious impacts on financial stability and overall health and a likelihood of feeling depressed or experiencing financial crises. Pig should therefore exercise caution in all their actions and decisions, avoid unnecessary conflicts and resistance to navigate through the year safely.

4. Monkey - Torturing Tai Sui - and Destruction of Tai Sui -Individuals born in the Year of the Monkey will face a dual clash with Tai Sui in 2025, encompassing both torturing and destructive influences. Expect financial challenges, increased risk of financial instability and crises. Tensions may arise due to the punitive nature of this year; hence, the monkey should focus on managing finances carefully to avoid falling into debt or financial difficulties.

By understanding these dynamics and taking proactive measures, those who clash with Tai Sui in 2025 can mitigate potential misfortunes and enhance their overall well-being throughout the year.

Here are few precautions to keep in mind, for all the Chinese Zodiac (Animal) signs:

Like all the annual afflictions, Tai Sui does not like being disturbed. The effects of Tai Sui can be good or bad depending on the annual flying stars that coincide with its location. If your front door is in the southeast during 2025, please try to avoid slamming the door as much as possible as this is a very quick way to anger Tai Sui. If you have a main bedroom or living space in the southeast this year, try to keep noise levels to normal volume and avoid playing the TV or music so loud that you can’t easily speak over the top of it. Avoid sitting or sleeping with your head pointing towards Southeast. Also do not directly confront Tai Sui in the dining room and at work, but it’s okay to have your back facing him. Conflicting with Tai Sui can invite disruptions, so it's crucial to take necessary precautions to avoid the adverse effects.

It’s imperative to keep the Southeast sector calm and quiet. Avoid loud noises, disturbances, and construction work during this period. No renovations, repairs, digging, or even hammering a small nail in the Southeast, of home or office. Avoid sitting at desk and facing Southeast.

The traditional method to appease Tai Sui for the year of the Snake, regardless of zodiac sign, is to place a Wu Sui Tai Sui gold plated plaque or Pi Yao in the southeast of your home or workplace throughout the whole of 2025. This powerful symbol invites his support and protection throughout the year. Also, by paying respect to the Grand Duke of Jupiter, we can weaken or avoid the problems this can bring.

You may also carry protective amulets or talismans designed for the year, such as the Tai Sui Amulet 2025 or the Brass Feng Shui Piyao Biting Coin Amulet. Keeping a Tai Sui Metal Card 2025 or Tai Sui Card 2025 in your purse or wallet serves as an additional safeguard against negative influences.

Here are few more dos and don’ts for managing Tai Sui Conflicts:

Maintain Your Vehicle: Regularly check and service your car to ensure safe driving and prevent accidents. When driving, hang a Colorful Liuli Pair of Piyao Tassel or a Yellow Liuli Pair of Piyao Feng Shui Tassel in your car to ensure a safe journey.

Help others whenever possible to cultivate goodwill and remain in their favor. This generosity can create a protective buffer against potential challenges. Cultivate a positive mindset and steer clear negative thoughts. The law of attraction can influence your experiences significantly. Engage in happy gatherings and celebrations to soak up positive energies.

Limit Visits to Hospitals and Funerals: Try to avoid these places during this time, as they can bring negative energies.

Steer clear of high-risk investments, career changes, and extreme sports that could lead to unnecessary challenges.

If accessible, visiting a Tai Sui temple for prayers and offerings, especially on the 8th day of the first lunar month, can help secure Tai Sui’s favor.

Important Reminder: Tai Sui, as the God of the Year, changes annually. Do not reuse any Tai Sui amulets, plaques, or keychains from previous years. Instead, respectfully wrap them in paper, express gratitude for their past protection, and dispose of them properly.

Tai Sui Guan Zhong in 2016 – Feng Shui, Customs and Superstitions

Tai Sui Guan Zhong in 2016 – Feng Shui, Customs and Superstitions

In 2016, the ruling Tai Sui is the great general Guan Zhong, one of 60 heavenly generals. There is only one Tai Sui (also known as Grand Duke of Jupiter or Grand Commander of the Year) who regulates events in each year according to the Sixty Cycles.

A brief historical account of this year’s Tai Sui General Guan Zhong

Guan Zhong was born to a poor family but rose to become the Prime Minister of the state of Qi in China thanks in part to steadfast support of an influential, close friend named Pao Shu Ya. The discerning Pao held Guan Zhong in high regard and never once wavered in his belief in Guan Zhong’s true caliber. Pao never considered him weak, even after Guan Zhong had repeatedly failed in his two postings and had twice run away from the battlefield. Guan Zhong was also humiliated by being imprisoned twice but still Pao stood by him. Resolute in his friendship, Pao, with a strong recommendation, eventually persuaded the Emperor of Qi State and secured Guan Zhong the position of Prime Minister.

That’s when Guan Zhong’s true talents shone. Guan Zhong studied the geographical situation of Qi and formed the opinion that in order to let the people live in peace and have better living conditions the governance needed to improve. He therefore drafted a set of administrative rules appropriate to their social conditions. He divided the land into categories and arranged to have taxes collected according to the measure of productivity of each category. After the accrual of wealth he next strove to strengthen the state through emphasis on unification and mutual coordination between the military and bureaucracy. Then he strengthened ties with other states and improved on diplomatic policies by respecting their differing views. He became the most popular Prime Minister, as under his leadership the prime ministers of all States were unified and the state of Qi became the most powerful state.

In 645 BC, Guan Zhong passed away but not before his collective works, which reflected his ideology on self-discipline and administering the state was published.

The state of Qi adopted the policies set by Guan Zhong during the Chun Qiu era and thus ensured the power and stability of Qi for well over 10 generations.

According to Feng Shui principles, the ruling Tai Sui, who possesses great power, each year is the most highly respected and feared deity. Tai Sui in 2016 is located in the Southwest and, to avoid offending him, one needs to treat this area with particular care.

For starters one should not confront Tai Sui by sitting facing him or sleep with one’s head pointed in the direction of Tai Sui. It is better to have your back to him so as to enjoy his support.

One should avoid doing any construction or repair work in the Southwest for, if Tai Sui is disturbed, those staying in the house will have a tough year ahead with a lot of arguments and sickness. If there is no alternative and serious work needs to be done in this area then avoid starting and ending it here. You can start and end in other sectors. This point should be strongly emphasised: Remember offending Tai Sui may mean one will encounter many obstacles, will get little returns despite significant efforts, will have ill luck with windfalls, disharmony and conflict will arise in families and their career will be rocky only to mention a few problems.

If you have a front door facing southwest you must be careful not to allow the door to slam when entering or leaving. Also avoid placing heavy metal in the southwest this year, as doing so will weaken the good earth and can cause more problems.

All is not bad for the Southwest however, for the flying star # 8 is also visiting in 2016 which can bring fame, wealth, romance, prestige and distinction to one’s life. You can, of course, use symbolic cures such as quartz crystals, crystal balls, hanging faceted crystals, a pair of rose quartz double hearts or a pair of Mandarin Ducks in the Southwest. In addition you can store your important financial papers like pensions, stock portfolios here.

Meanwhile it is said that if one’s Zodiac animal clashes with Tai Sui, depending on the degree of conflict, much harm and bad luck, damage and discord, lawsuits, employment problems, bad investments and loss of money could befall one for the entire year. That is why it is best to know which Zodiac animals are in conflict with Tai Sui so as to minimize harm.

The list of those Zodiac animals that are at odds with Tai Sui in 2016

-Conflict with Monkey (This means: Traffic mishaps will occur, things may go against one’s wish, poor income results from all sources, disharmony within the family and your career will be unstable.)

-Clashes with Tiger, Snake

-Causing hurt with Rooster

-Incompatible with Pig

-Damaging with Snake

This is for everyone:

If you encounter particularly bad luck this year, you may have inadvertently offended Tai Sui. Here are possible remedies:

The traditional Chinese method to appease Tai Sui is to place a Guan Zhong Tai Sui plaque in the South-west in order to pay respect and appease the Deity. In this way one can weaken or avoid the problems any offence can bring.

There are basically two ways of praying to the “Tai Sui” : “Age Suppression” (Ya Tai Sui) and “Age Praying” (Pai Tai Sui). This is of course not for everyone except for the very devout and it needs to be done at Temple.

“Age Suppression” (Ya Tai Sui)

The former refers to a situation where one prays to the Deity when he/she encounters bad luck. The traditional way to do this is to write down one’s birth date and time on a piece of gold-coloured paper and place it under the idol of the Tai Sui. A year later, this person must “return” the age that he has previously “suppressed”. In some cases, 49 copper coins are used to suppress the paper with one’s birth date and time. However, this method is not very safe and you will need someone who is reliable and familiar with the method to be around to give you guidance. The Temple attendant may do it for you then you give him/her an ang pow for their help & good luck.

“Age Praying” (Pai Tai Sui)

The latter, termed “Age Praying”, occurs when one is doing fine and experiencing good luck therefore they pray to Tai Sui so they will not have any adverse effects due to clashes, conflicts or offences to Tai Sui in that particular year. In this case, the birth date and time are written down on a piece of gold-colored paper which is then brought in front of the Tai Sui and burned after saying prayers. This is a safer and more practical method.

For the general public there is the option of Praying to Grand Duke Jupiter Tai Sui at Home:

During the course of the year for those who have encountered setbacks in their life, health, business or career why not offer your sincere prayers to Tai Sui for peace and a smooth flow of luck? A sincere heart transcends all faith and the individual year’s Tai Sui will always listen.

It’s up to an individual how best to pray. Here’s one way: One can set up an offering of joss paper, incense, candles, fruits (use 5 apples and 5 oranges) or whatever one can manage. When praying, one can tell Tai Sui their name and make their wishes known with a sincere heart. It could be a wish for good health, luck, wealth, prosperity, family safety and so forth. At the end of the year when one’s wishes are fulfilled, its good form to remember with an offering of thanks.

Finally, according to Chinese custom and practice, Tai Sui rituals or prayers are more effective at every 1st and 15th day of every month of the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

The 2014 Annual Afflictions Part 4- The Illness Black Star #2 (also known as Ju Men)

The 2014 Annual Afflictions Part 4- The Illness

Black Star #2 (also known as Ju Men)

The Illness Black Star #2 flies to East during 2014 when the annual 2 Black combines with any untimely visiting monthly stars. The chi manifested from this combination can affect us undesirably and cause problems.

In Feng Shui one will always need to consider health as a priority because, without health, one cannot have an otherwise fulfilling life and certainly one will not be able to obtain good luck in making money. The eldest or only son of the family, in particular, needs to watch out for danger and long term illnesses, especially those related to the abdominal and gastrointestinal areas. Even if there is no son in the house the illness energy in the East should not be left unattended or without remedy as it can still affect everyone. One may not know that this star is also capable to bring about loss of wealth, injuries, gossips, lawsuits, relationship problems, insomnia (sleeping problems) and depression. Better to place all the necessary Cures to render it benign. Another good thing to do is to avoid using the East area as much as possible. Strive to keep it as quiet as possible and definitely shun all types of renovation and disturbing the earth. If you really have to renovate or refurbish the east room, do not engage in such activities during the months of March May, June, October and December 2014.

If your bedroom is located in the east sector of the house, you will be prone to falling sick. All is not lost however, there is a cure to subdue #2, and that is the 8 Immortals Wu Lou with Long Life Vase.

You may also hang any wooden Wu-Lou (gourd) in the east corner of the room or east post of the bed as an effective cure. Additionally you may place many round metal decorative objects, so long as they are calming and do not have any sharp points, to dissipate the #2 Black Star’s negative influence in the East. Avoid using red color in this sector and refrain from displaying triangle shapes or fiery pictures.

You can also use the 8 Immortals Wu Lou to dissipate the negative earth if your kitchen happens to be located in the East. If your main door is in the East, then a good remedy to dissipate the effect of the #2 star would be to hang a Ba Gua outside the door.

Inside you may place a salt water cure and have the six Chinese coins tied with red ribbon.
Another good Cure to place in the East would be a gold Tsai Shen Yeh (God of Wealth) statue which will help in reducing the bad earth and will also help to guard your wealth for the year. Additionally you can place a Ru Yi wealth and legal enhancer in the East.

In 2014 a metal Dragon Turtle is also used as a Feng Shui cure to neutralize the energy of negative annual stars, particularly the #2 (visiting East) and #5 star (visiting NW). In this case it brings strong protective energies as related to the fiery and courageous energy of the dragon and the watchful guardian energy of the turtle.

Dragon Headed Turtle

The Dragon and the Turtle are both considered celestial creatures and are part of the four Feng Shui guardians assigned to each of the four cardinal directions. The green Dragon is in the East, the red Phoenix in the South, the white Tiger is in the West and the North has the black Turtle. So any combination of these celestial animals logically makes for a more powerful force.

The Dragon Tortoise is a hybrid of the celestial dragon that also is blessed with the attributes of a sturdy and steadfast tortoise. With the head of dragon and a body of a turtle the energy of the dragon, comprising courage, determination and success, is perfectly blended with tortoise’s longevity of tenure, to provide one with a protection and lasting and successful career luck. How apropos that the Dragon Headed Turtle is often depicted on a bed of coins and ingots, holding a coin in its mouth- eliciting lasting wealth and occasionally, appears with claws and Ru Yi- bringing forth authority and protection. In these configurations the dragon is said to be blowing good breathe to people and carrying the Ru Yi which signifies power, high rank and doing everything well.

With the Dragon Headed Turtle, the symbolic meanings of the dragon (luck); tortoise (long life), baby tortoise (new beginnings, fertility or excellent descendants luck) and the coins representing the money that can be made, are the reason for its heightened popularity. The various designs on its back meanwhile, such as a whole lo or a shu square symbol or with one or several baby dragon turtles riding it, always represents a good beginning and a new business venture with prospects. For those of you that are in a relationship, or wishing to have one, The Dragon Tortoise also furthers fortunate relationships. It is a fantastic energizer for scholastic finesse and superior knowledge as well as for acquiring many benefactors at school and work.

A word of caution: Do not place this symbol in the kitchen or bath room.

The ideal placement of the Dragon Turtle would be in the North, NW or East sector of the house. Placing this dragon at home is said to bring the occupants of a home good luck, wealth and feeling of security. The Dragon Headed Turtle also protects a home from negative energies.

Do not put the Dragon Headed Turtle in the North or East if it is directly in front of you while putting it at office or business place. Instead it would be best to position the symbol parallel to where you sit; here it can enhance your relationship luck. If you have arguments and troubles you can display it right behind your seat looking sideways which signifies support. Display it in Northeast for scholarship and to further your education.

Indeed, keeping a dragon turtle will attract prosperity to your business and improves your relationships with those around you. To further improve the general relationship luck you may place a piece of red ribbon in his mouth, which works wonders. To improve wealth a piece of golden ribbon can be kept in its mouth. If you are having Health problems place a piece of blue ribbon in his mouth.

Apart from all these attributes listed above, Dragon Headed Turtle is a wonderful gift to give to someone who is starting a new business, career or a new job.

Best of Luck

The 2014 Annual Afflictions Part 3- The Sui Po, Star #5 Yellow (Lien Chen Star)

The 2014 Annual Afflictions Part 3

The Sui Po, Star #5 Yellow (Lien Chen Star)

The Sui Po

Previously we’ve noted that North (about 352.6 to 7.5 degrees) was afflicted with the Three Killings. What makes the North more detrimental this year is that it is also being afflicted by Sui Po. Sui Po, the year breaker Star (also known as the star that "clashes with Grand Duke"), is positioned directly opposite Tai Sui (The Grand Duke).

Suffice to say Sui Po should not be taken lightly and this direction should be treated with the same respect as that of the Grand Duke with no ground-breaking work, renovations or any noisy activities for the entire year. For even though Sui Po’s energy is not as severe as the Three Killings or Tai Sui it could still cause similar bad luck, including fatalities. If disturbed the offended Sui Po can, and normally will, cause immediate health problems especially for the elderly. At home it will perpetuate uneasiness and unrest, bad luck even fatalities, whereas at work it will result in demotion, a career downfall, lawsuits, gossip and many other unfavorable outcomes. The situation can be cured however, with the powerful Pi Yao. One can display the Pi Yao anywhere along north-center-south axis and have it facing the north.

Here’s bit more info on the Pi Yao: Pi Yao is the ninth son of the Heavenly Dragon and has different names depending on where it is sighted. The Pi Yao lives in the heaven, Pi Xiu lives on earth and Pi Kan lives in the sea. All of them brings the same blessings and possess the same properties. The Pi Yao is a protective heavenly creature that has one horn, lion/dog face, hoofs and little wings and a curly tail. Many people prefer using the Pi Yao over Chi Lin because the Pi Yao does not have an anus, he only eats but does not excrete. It has a huge, even infinite appetite. The Pi Yao is also known to be loyal in nature and very obedient to their owners. Pi Yao possesses the ability to transform negative chi into positive, overcome obstacles, drive away evil, subdue bad luck, diminish obstructions, combat bodily harm and terminate stress. The Pi Yao is suitable for stimulating growth in business, securing safety for the family, warding off negativities, inviting fortune and wealth, protecting against intangible afflictions, and appeasing the Tai Sui and Sui Po. In 2014, those who are born under the zodiac signs RAT, HORSE, OX, ROOSTER, RABBIT and SNAKE should be extra vigilant.

If you have a south facing property or have your front doors to the south you must also be careful not to allow the doors to slam while entering or exiting the premise.

If you have to carry out work or emergency repairs to do in the north, place a six hollow metal rod wind chime between your buildings and the location where the work is to be carried out. Additionally, carry along the Pi Yao to overcome obstacles and guard yourself against bad Feng Shui due to alterations. It ensures good health to you.

All in all you should carry along the symbol of Pi Yao or have it beside you most of the time to ensure that good fortune and luck enters the stomach of Pi Yao and is trapped there. Meanwhile, the Pi Yao’s fierce look ward of evil spirits and it can also identify wicked people, preventing them from harming you. Is it any wonder travellers often carry along the Pi Yao (sometimes on a key chain) to prevent injuries and accidents and ensure successful and fruitful journeys with good business deals?

Star #5 Yellow (Lien Chen Star)

The deadliest affliction, known as the Fatal Star #5 Yellow (Lien Chen Star), has flown to the northwest in 2014 and because the centre has no gender this is not good and is a serious cause for concern.

Do not disturb the northwest of your home or business with noisy activities, renovations or maintenance work such as banging, nailing, digging or disturbing the earth or ground breaking this year. Be mindful of this even when you cut your grass; one solution would be to start mowing the lawn from a different direction or corner of the garden.

In the face of adversity and change, hold steady and constant. Do not get too eager to initiate repairs for, if disturbed, Star #5 can lead to injury, accidents and illnesses including fatality. My advice is to have as little activity as possible in the area. If one has an electrical fan here try not to turn it on at any time. Instead of keeping the place dark one should keep it bright. Just do not use "warm" lights. Instead, use low powered LED cold lights that will not aggravate the #5 and at the same time prevent yin energies from accumulating. Please take note that yin energy, once accumulated, can worsen the situation.

If you cannot avoid construction work or excavating then you should place a six-rod metal wind chime between your house/building and the work whilst the work is being done.

The six-rod metal wind chime, like the bagua, is a fundamental tool used in authentic Feng Shui. The advantage of a wind chime is that it can be used internally to dissolve Shar Chi. Wind chimes are unquestionably the most powerful enhancer and cure for many Feng Shui situations. Wind chimes are potent enough to maneuver and enhance chi wherever it is placed. They make a significant presence especially for those who do not want to spend too much money to modify buildings and large structures due to bad Feng Shui. Properly designed wind chimes, according to the rules of nature, do not invite ghosts but instead will chase away evil spirits with the melody of metal energy.

Another benefit of the wind chime is that the 6 rods, which mimic the hexagram CHIEN, can also activate heaven luck in the northwest. One thing to remember, however; you must not hang a wind chime directly above where you sleep, sit, eat, work or stand. Your energy will be suppressed. In the event that there is space constraint, you may hang the wind chime lower than waist level.

If your bedroom is located in the Northwest, move out if possible. Avoid using too much fire element here for it will aggravate the 5-Yellow, keep cold lights (LED) moderately lit.

The situation worsens if #5 Yellow hits your kitchen. This is because the kitchen already has a strong fire energy that reinforces #5 according to the Five Element Theory. During the years 2004-2024 the northwest will be occupied by #9 of fire nature. Therefore when Fatal Star #5-Yellow which possesses earth energy enters into the fire sector the afflicted energy becomes reinforced and the bad consequences worsen. When the Northwest is disturbed there will be consequences consisting of high amplification of obstruction, serious misfortune, lawsuit and financial losses, obstacles at work, bad news, accidents, disturbance and family disharmony even breakup, injuries, accidents, ailment and at worst: a fatality. Men especially will be at risk if this sector is not cured. The dangers will befall fathers, breadwinners, patriarchs’ and anyone who is in a leadership position.

When #5 Yellow hits the northwest in 2014, besides the patriarch of the family, those born in the year of the Dog and the Pig will also be affected by the #5 Yellow. Remember; a moment of negligence can spiral your luck from bad to worse in a heartbeat.

You are therefore advised to avoid cooking in the kitchen if it’s located in Northwest and eat out as much as possible for this whole year. If, for whatever reason, this cannot be accomplished then, as an effective cure, you need to display the Tenfold Powerful One (also known as Kalachakra seed syllable) with Secret Pagoda above the stove or in the vicinity of the stove in the northwest to subdue #5 and to protect your family’s health.

Kalachakra

If #5 Yellow is where your main door is located this does not bode well and also puts you in grave danger with the list of misfortunes mentioned prior. The doors opening and closing disturbs the # 5 Yellow. You will have to carry along the amulet for safety. Furthermore, you should display on the door knob the Tenfold Powerful One with Secret Pagoda for the remedy.

The Tenfold Powerful One (Kalachakra Symbol) is an ultra strong antidote for killing energy and evil forces. It is often used as a cure for difficult situations when other cures become helpless, in situations that may possibly carry misfortunes, disasters and accidents if not properly remedied. It is also a potent cure against visible and invisible Shar Chi such as poison arrows and annual afflictions. It uses the principle of 5 elements, combined with sacred symbols that invoke cosmic powers, in a simple, practical and effective manner to create big changes in energy without the need to remodel your home. It is like a few ounces of positive energy to deflect thousand pounds of negative forces.

For greater power and bigger homes, you can use the tinkling sounds of metal hitting metal by hanging the Wind chime and the symbol of Tenfold Powerful One combined.

Kalachakra Ten-Fold Powerful One, when worn, offers a powerful protection against an untimely death from natural disaster or illness, non-virtuous behavior and harm from evil spirits. The Kalachakra symbol deters negative energies in its surroundings and maximizes good omens. It's the ultimate symbol of protection against the afflictions of time brought by Feng Shui, cosmic and planetary cyclic changes. Those of you who are concerned when travelling or conducting business in an inauspicious date and time should find this amulet helpful.

Note: If you can’t find the Tenfold Powerful One amulet, you can copy this image and print it out.

The 2014 Annual Afflictions Part 2- Tai Sui (The Grand Duke of Jupiter)

The 2014 Annual Afflictions Part 2

Tai Sui (The Grand Duke of Jupiter)

Tai Sui, Grand Duke of Jupiter or also known as “General of Time Gods” (Yin Jiao), is a very important aspect of Chinese Astrology. Tai Sui refers to stars directly opposite to Jupiter and sometime refers to the rotation of Jupiter. In any case they are known to influence the Chinese zodiac and are involved in religious Taoism and Feng Shui.

Jade Emperor in Heavenly Court

The Chinese Lunar Year Cycle has 60 years, and according to Taoist belief, there are sixty heavenly generals one of whom is the Year Authority, or Tai Sui, who is rotated within the 60 Jia Zi (Jupiter stars) . Suffice it to say; with such immense power and influence, no one dares to offend him. At this juncture I would like to also add that Tai Sui has usually been misunderstood as the dreaded punisher whereas, in fact, Grand Duke Jupiter is engaged by Heaven to tend to any mishaps and disasters and provide protection. A person's bliss, health, luck and misfortune are all governed under the care of Tai Sui. Pay heed, Tai Sui will note the good deeds and misdeeds of people and so mete out rewards or punishments accordingly.
Meanwhile, those whose Chinese Zodiac offends, or by their sign clash with the Tai Sui of the year, are advised to go through a prayer session with a Taoist Priest to ask for blessing in obtaining Peace and Good Fortune throughout the year. If for whatever reason one can’t do this then there are Talismans for protection against Tai Sui.

In the Year 2014 Year of the Horse the ruling Tai Sui is Zhang Ci, and it falls on sector South 2; Tai Sui in this year is in conflict with the Rat. It is also imperative for those born in the years of Horse, Rat, Rabbit and Rooster to have the protective talisman shown below. However, it is highly recommended for everyone to carry one even if his or her horoscope sign is not in conflict, directly or indirectly with Tai Sui because you may unknowingly sleep or sit facing him, which will also incur his wrath. Better to be safe than sorry!

The position of the ruling Tai Sui in the subsequent years are: In the Year 2015 Year of the Sheep, the ruling Tai Sui is Yang Xian, and it falls on sector South West 1; Tai Sui in this year is in conflict with the Ox. In the Year 2016 Year of the Monkey, the ruling Tai Sui is Guan Zhong, and it falls on sector South West 3; Tai Sui in this year is in conflict with the Tiger.

As mentioned earlier, this year 2014 Tai Sui resides in the South (and between 142.5º – 157.5º southeast which is only 15 degrees span). Inactivity must therefore be strictly observed so as not to incur its wrath. The Tai Sui conflict is a serious affliction that must not be taken lightly. Tai Sui dislikes noise and commotion. All groundbreaking work, construction work, any renovation/repair work or moving into a new home (that faces the Grand Duke) had best be avoided. When activities are carried out it is deemed a challenge to his authority and a petrifying backlash will likely ensue.

Those afflicted will suffer lots of arguments, legal problems, financial losses, bad luck, illness, injuries, surgery, career setbacks, calamities, and fatalities at home and at work.

Also do not directly confront Tai Sui in the dining room and at work, but it’s okay to have your back facing him. Always avoid sitting with your back to the north otherwise you will find yourself harassed by unscrupulous people and also encounter undue gossip and back stabbing all during 2014. Do not sleep with your head pointing to the direction of Grand Duke Jupiter.

For houses that are facing south you are considered as in confrontation mode with the Tai Sui. For such case, it is better to display the Grand Duke Tai Sui Plaque at home as a way of paying deep respect to the deity and seeking blessings from Him. This is a common method of acknowledging the goodwill of Tai Sui as the Heavenly Divine One who is in charge of the year. And you will have to carry along the Grand Duke Charm because you are considered as either offending or confronting the Tai Sui, even if their zodiac constellation is not affected.

In 2014 place the Tai Sui Plaque 2014 with Appeasing Mantra in the South where the Tai Sui resides this year, to invite the goodwill of the powerful General Zhang Ci. This protects against offending him and cultivates his support in all our worldly endeavors – for health, wealth, love, peace and happiness.

(This 2014 Tai Sui Plaque is specially designed for this purpose - appeasing him as well as protecting you from the wrath of the Grand Duke Jupiter. The front of the talisman features the image of General Zhang Ci (章词), the Grand Duke who is in charge of the worldly affairs in 2014. The plaque also features the Tai Sui appeasing mantra, which is added for good measure. This talisman can be displayed on the table/shelf or hung on a wall to enjoy the support and blessings of the Grand Duke of the year.)

Pixiu or Pi Yao

Pi Yao (PIxiu) is a Chinese mythical hybrid creature considered to be a very powerful protector by Feng Shui practitioners. It resembles a winged lion. Pixiu is an earth and sea variation, a particularly influential and auspicious creature for wealth. Fierce looking and covered with whitish-grey fur, Pixiu has the head of a Chinese dragon. Ancient Chinese depictions of Pixiu showed two different types of Pixiu. The difference is with their horns; the male has the single antler, and the female two. The the male with one horn is called Tian Lu (Pi Chen) and female with two horns is known as Pi Ya . Tian Lu is in charge of wealth and displaying Tian Lu at home or in the office is said to prevent wealth from flowing away. Another interesting note is the belief that common wingless Pixiu assists in seeking wealth while a winged Pixiu assists students in furthering their studies.

As with the Chinese Phoenix, the common image of Pi Yao (Pixiu) has undergone change and today it is represented as a single sex. Pixiu has protruding eyes and sharp teeth. Its body resembles a Chinese lion and the legs of Pixiu are those of a Qilin. Looking at the posture of the Pixiu, the creature seems to project a sense of strength, elegance and mobility. Pixiu’s obvious characteristic is its fat body which indicates a full stomach loaded with unlimited amounts of good fortune. It has a single horn on its head and a pair of wings. Likewise it has a big open mouth ready to gobble up fortune. Because of this a Pixiu statue is often employed in the home as a way of receiving and keeping fortune.

The Pixiu is ranked 5th in the order of mythical beings, behind the dragon, phoenix, winged horse and sea horse. Ancient architecture often displayed Pixiu to ward off Yin Qi (bad fortune). The statues of a Pixiu are typically seen on the four corners of the roofs of houses, particularly those of influential people such as the emperor. In ancient China, statues of Pixiu were also used as tomb guardians.

The myth behind the Pi Yao (Pixiu) is that the creature at one time had violated the law of Heaven, and so the Jade Emperor had punished Pixiu by restricting its diet to gold. Thus Pixiu can only absorb gold, but cannot expel it. This is the origin of Pixiu’s status as a symbol of the acquisition and preservation of wealth. It is said to have a voracious appetite for only gold and silver. Therefore traditionally to the Chinese, Pixiu has always been regarded as an auspicious creature that possessed mystical power capable of drawing Cai Qi (good fortune) from all directions.

Displaying a Pi Ya at the affected area of the house or office can avoid misfortune and disasters. The Pi Ya must be placed facing away from the house. For displaying at openings or entrances a pair of Pi Ya is needed.

The Tian Lu is used for attracting wealth. One places it in the designated wealth area to attract wealth or accumulate wealth. Do not place Tian Lu facing any person directly on in a confrontational position. Ideally Tien Lu should not be place on the floor but it definitely should never be place above eye level.

One cannot touch the face and head of the "Pixiu," because the touch from an ordinary person would ruin their wealth.

Pixiu (Pi Yao), a fierce creature has large fangs, visible in the creature’s mouth, with which it attacks demons and evil spirits, draining their essence and converting it to wealth. Pi Ya is useful therefore in warding off evil. Pixiu is also believed to guard against disease caused by evil spirits. Furthermore, Pi Ya has the ability of assisting anyone who is suffering from bad Feng Shui due to having offended the Grand Duke Jupiter (Tai Sui).

Tai Sui is very fond of his pet, the Pi Yao. You may appease Tai Sui therefore, by placing a Pi Yao or Dragon-headed Tortoise in the north sector of the home or office facing the 15º south radius where Tai Sui sits. For this cure, the placement of the Pi Yao should be obvious and not hidden from view, and there must be a metal element involved. Metal here refers to real gold and strong metal. The secret behind this cure is that the "Tai Sui mantra" must accompany the Pi Yao for maximum effectiveness. It actually refers to a set of Chinese incantation of the Tai Sui. This mantra had been used for centuries to help one overcome the wrath of Tai Sui.

(The "Long Pi" pictured on either side of the Duke is a traditional cure used by old time masters to resolve shar from the Tai Sui. The big wings signify its ability to fly high and reach greater heights/goals. Inviting them to your space will ease your efforts in diminishing obstructions. You will then gain a full grip and better control over your fortune and luck. It has the ability to transform negative chi into positive, overcome obstacles, prevent annual dangers caused to zodiacs, subdue bad luck, combat bodily harm and terminate stress.)

Good Luck.
